The two-year Demon
A crowned demon
is lurking in the
shadows at night.
Though invisible
you can feel her presence
everywhere
Scavengers are roaming
the abandoned streets
Every now and then
masked persons
hurry to their destiny
avoiding each other
longing for better times.
Unseen by the public
the battle rages on
lead by white-coated soldiers
in the hectic intensive care units.
Sleepless and hollow-eyed
they fight sleep and fatigue
and most of all
the demon.
